These resources have been developed for Canadians trying to make healthy changes in their eating habits to prevent chronic disease such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes. CHANGE Program participants will receive a personal nutrition and exercise toolkit.

    Recipes and videos: A set of 13 simple recipes with 8 short videos developed by Metabolic Syndrome Canada to help people make healthy lifestyle changes.

    Kitchen Hacks Video: A short video sharing some tips on making healthy food that tastes great.

    Eating the Mediterranean Way: A checklist which provides recommended eating behaviours to practice daily and weekly.

    How much is in your coffee: A chart listing the varying amounts of sugar, saturated fat, and calories in different sizes and ways people choose to take their coffee.

    Nuts: A handout on including nuts in a healthy diet, with tips for buying, storing, and using nuts.

  • We are excited to be adapting our programs to be culturally safe for all Canadians.

    In the Pacific Northwest, our elder partners are guiding us to make our programs relevant. An example is a Sea Asparagus Harvesting day in Haida Gwaii.

  • Metabolic Syndrome Canada is pleased to announce their study demonstrating metabolic syndrome (MetS) may be reversed through participation in a team-based lifestyle intervention program including diet and exercise changes is now published in CMAJ Open.
